Eddie D was born in 1963 and graduated in 1991 from the Arts and Media department of AKI Enschende, Netherlands. His work consists in photos, videotapes and computer installations. The themes are the deconstruction of language and rhythm and the relation between image and sound. Music is a constant influence, as a formal starting point as well as a source of structures and patterns. His work is internationally considered as representative of this genre of video art and has been screened worlwide. He was awarded at the Seattle VideoShorts Festival (United-States), the Wiener Internationaler Compositions Wettbewerb (Austria) and his works have been shown at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and at the Biennial of Moving Images, Pandaemonium 2001 in London.
