The world is what noise is: the mean feature in “Scope” is the loudspeaker on pylons, in the halls of railway stations, on the roofs, in the car radios, living room radios, ear-phones, telephone headsets or radio stations. One is aware of the listeners only in the break or when the sound is low. The loudspeakers diffuse the staging of tones and sounds, sometimes incomprehensible to communicate, deformed musical sounds, scrambled advertisements and waves. Volker Schreiner renders himself to general and contemporary noise, which has not been perceived for a long time because of his omnipotence in the modern world, a new voice, different and forgotten.

In 1988/89 Volker Schreiner obtains a grant from the International City Bank of Paris, in 1993, he becomes a part-time lecturer in HfG of Karlsruhe, and 94 to 98 to the HBK of Braunschweig. In 1998/99, he obtains another grant from the German Academy for the Massimo Villa in Rome; he was invited on several occasions as professor to the HBK of Braunschweig from 2000/2001, and to the University Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz from 2002/2003. His works have been acquired by the NBK of Berlin, the ZKM of Karlsruhe, the Museum Ludwig de Köln, the Museum for New Arts of Karlsruhe, and the Museum of Film of Amsterdam among others.
