Reflet d'une époque, la scène d'ouverture du film d'Antonioni, "Zabriskie Point" (1970) - une réunion d'étudiants-, se trouve être une inspiration pour la vidéo. Dans "Project for a Revolution", une foule de jeunes gens attend que quelque chose d'indéfinissable ait lieu. Est-il possible d'être révolutionnaire aujourd'hui ? L'artiste suggère la solution collective comme un mode de vie positif et possible, en opposition à un style de vie marqué par l'individualisme.


Als Inspiration für das Video diente die Anfangssequenz von Antonionis Film "Zabriskie Point" von 1970, die in einem Klassentreffen die Stimmung der Zeit widerspiegelt. In "Project for a revolution" wartet eine Gruppe Jugendlicher darauf, dass irgend etwas Undefinierbares passiert. Ist es heutzutage möglich, revolutionär zu sein? Die Künstlerin schlägt eine kollektive Lösung als möglichen positiven Lebensstil vor, im Gegensatz zu einem vom Individualismus geprägten.


As a time-reflecting inspiration to the video stands the opening scene in Antonioni's film Zabriskie Point from 1970 - a students meeting. In Project for a Revolution a crowd of young people are waiting for something indefinable to happen. Is it possible to be revolutionary today? The artist suggests the collective solution as a positive and possible lifestyle, in opposition to a lifestyle marked by individualism.

Johanna Billing (née en 1973 à Jankaping) vit et travaille à Stockholm. Elle a obtenu son diplôme du département des Beaux-Arts de Konstfack à Stockholm en 1999 et a, depuis, travaillé et exposé des œuvres vidéos en Suède, en Norvège, en Corée, au Canada, en Allemagne, aux Etats-Unis, etc.


Johanna Billing, 1973 in Jankaping geboren, lebt und arbeitet in Stockholm. Sie hat die Konstfack, Abteilung Bildende Kunst in Stockolm 1999 abgeschlossen und seitdem Videowerke in Schweden, Norwegen, Korea, Kanada, Deutschland und den USA verwirklicht und ausgestellt.


Johanna Billing (born 1973 in Jankaping) lives and works in Stockholm. She graduated from Konstfack, fine arts department, Stockholm in 1999 and she has since then worked exhibited videoworks in Sweden, Norway, Korea, Canada, Germany, USA etc.
