Abdellac vit avec sa femme et sa fille dans la banlieue parisienne. Jeune diplômé, sans emploi, il passe ses journées à s'occuper de Nina et entretient son appartement pendant que Barbara travaille. Dans ce film-vidéo au budget réduit, le personnage principal est confronté à son espace vital. Son appartement devient un désert. Ce n'est pas un désert réel, mais la représentation du mal être de ce jeune père. En portant une attention extrême à l'emplacement des meubles et à la propreté de son intérieur, il s'attache plus à des choses futiles qu'à ce qui lui permettrait de se construire en tant qu'être humain et social. Sa vie en paraît vide de sens.

Abdellac lebt mit seiner Frau und seiner Tochter in einem Vorort von Paris. Gerade mit der Universität fertig und arbeitslos, kümmert er sich den ganzen Tag um Nina und den Haushalt, während Barbara arbeitet. In diesem Video muss sich der Hauptdarsteller mit seinem Lebensraum auseinandersetzen, der zu einer Wüste wird. Es ist keine wirkliche Wüste sondern die Materialisierung des Unwohlseins des jungen Vaters. Er achtet besonders auf die Anordnung der Möbel und ist auf Sauberkeit bedacht, und masst damit unwichtigen Dingen mehr Wichtigkeit an als den wirklich wichtigen Dingen im Leben. Sein Leben erscheint daher sinnlos und leer.

In this low-budget film-video, the main character is confronted to his vital space. His apartment becomes a desert. It is not a real desert, but the representation of this young father's uneasiness. by his extreme attention to the lay-out of his furniture and the cleanliness of his interior, he attaches himself more to futile things than what would enable him to construct himself as a human and social being. His life thus appears empty of meaning.
