Ce film fut d'abord une installation éphémère de Dimitri Xenakis sur le site industriel Hydrex à Montreuil.
Achevée en février 1997, puis détruite, il n'en reste pas moins un témoignage à travers ce court métrage.
"Je considère la cité en tant que géométrie et matière, comme le reflet de notre espace mental. Aucune partie n'est inférieure ou indigne. Depuis plusieurs années, je collecte aux encombrants dans les chantiers de construction ou de démolition, des déchets issus de la mue de nos villes, principalement du bois.
En réarticulant ces débris bavards dans des installations qui s'impliquent dans l'espace urbain, je tente d'attirer le regard sur les réalités qui nous entourent et dont la compréhension devient urgente".
Dimitri Xenakis, 34 ans, sculpteur, plasticien et photographe est né à Levallois, il vit et travaille à Montreuil près de Paris.


Dieser Film war zunächst ein vorübergehender Aufbau von Dimitri Xenakis in der Industrieanlage Hydrex in Montreuil.
Er wurde im Februar 1997 fertiggestellt, dann zerstört, aber dieser Kurzfilm stellt eine anschauliche Erinnerung dar.
"Ich betrachte die Stadt als Geometrie und Materie, als die Wiedergabe unseres geistigen Raumes. Keiner ihrer Teile ist zweitrangig oder wertlos. Seit mehreren Jahren sammele ich auf Bauplätzen und Abbruchstellen aus der Mutation der Stadt hervorgegangene Abfälle, in erster Linie Holz. Indem ich diese gesprächigen eingefügt in den urbanen Raum neu zusammenstelle, versuche ich, den Blick auf die Realitäten zu ziehen, die uns umgebenund die wir unbedingt verstehen müssen." Dimitri Xenakis, 34, Bildhauer und Fotograf, wurde in Levallois geboren. Er lebt und arbeitet in Montreuil bei Paris.


First, this film was an ephemeral installation of Dimitri Xenakis which took place in the industrial plan of Hydrex in Montreuil.
In february 1997, it was finished and then destroyed.
This short film witnesses this installation. "I consider that the city as geometry and material, like the reflexion of our mental space. No part os inferior to another or unworthey. For a few years, I have been collecting the garbage of working site, this garbage is mainly wood. Rearticulating this garbage in installations which take place in the city, I try to underline this reality which is all around us and which understanding urges".
Dimitri Xenakis, aged 34, sculptor, photographer, was born in Levallois. He lives and works in Montreuil, near from Paris.
