 Cette oeuvre fait une incursion au microscope dans le monde des annonces publicitaires militarisées et des titrages qui stigmatisent les informations américaines à l'heure actuelle. Avec la subversion du contenu, la structure et le tout numérique de l'outil médiatique sont au mis en avant. Certaines séquences appropriées extraites des journaux télévisés, de documentaires ou de films hollywoodiens sont juxtaposées non seulement pour attirer l'attention sur la confusion des frontières entre le divertissement et les journaux mais également pour souligner le problème de la fabrication de la réalité elle-même. Cette bande de téléscripteur subversive met en scène la nouvelle colonisation derrière la guerre et la militarisation.  Dieses Stück nimmt die militarisierten Anzeigen und Schlagzeilen unter das Mikroskop, die heute die amerikanischen Informationssendungen brandmarken. Mit der Subversion des Inhalts werden Struktur und Eindrücklichkeit dieser vermittelten Erfahrung vodergründig. Auszüge aus Nachrichtensendungen, Dokumentarfilmen und Hollywood-Filmen werden nebeneinandergestellt, nicht nur, um die Aufmerksamkeit auf die verschwommenen Grenzen zwischen Information und Unterhaltung zu lenken, sondern auch auf die Fabrikation dieser Wirklichkeit selbst. This piece takes a microscope to the militarized ads and titles that brand the American news today. With the subversion of content the structure and digitality of the mediated experience is foregrounded. Appropriated footage from news, documentaries and Hollywood movies is juxti-postioned not only to draw attention to the blurred boundaries between entertainment and news but also to draw attention to the fabrication of reality itself. The subversive ticker tape exposes the new colonization behind war and militarization. ___ Note biographique Reddy, le film de Sarina Khan, explore les différences au sein de son identité culturelle en tant que femme islamique américaine. A travers la lentille de son héritage indien, elle explore la nouvelle colonisation incarnée par la globalisation. Plus spécifiquement, elle met l'accent sur le fait que le système économique se reflète dans toutes les couches sociales, et que la guerre et la militarisation sont alimentées par la globalisation commerciale. Sa dernière œuvre explore la confusion des frontières entre l'information et le divertissement. Elle utilise des séquences appropriées extraites de publicités, de journaux et de films hollywoodiens. Elle juxtapose ces sources afin de bouleverser la signification originale et d'attirer l'attention sur le système de la distribution en lui-même, la télévision. Elle a travaillé pendant de nombreuses années avec la technologie et s'efforce aujourd'hui de l'utiliser stratégiquement dans l'optique d'un changement social, par le biais de travaux bénévoles avec des organisations locales. Sarina Khan Reddy's video work explores the differences within her cultural identity as an Islamic-American woman. Through the lens of her Indian heritage, she explores the new colonization embodied in globalization. Specifically she focuses on how the economic system is reflected in all social formations and how war and militarization are fueled by corporate globalization. In her latest work she is exploring the blurred boundaries between news and entertainment. She uses appropriated footage from advertising, news, and Hollywood movies. She juxtaposes these sources to subvert the original meaning and to draw attention to the structure of the delivery system itself, the television. She has worked for many years with technology and today strives towards the strategic use of technology and media for social change through volunteer work with local organizations.
