Megan Fraser documents the destruction, dispersion and digitization of the human specimen's collection from a medical museum in London. She creates an obsessive mediation about the notion of "thing" on the legal, social and cultural aspect influencing its status. Manon de Boer creates a triple portrait, that of a city, a woman and an attitude towards life. The personal life of Rolnik, a Brazilian psychoanalyst living in Sao Paulo, involves the Brazilian dictatorship of the 60's as well as the Parisian intellectual climate surrounding Deleuze and Guattari in the 70's. The film intermingles various themes, the other and the relation towards otherness, the connexion between body and power, the voice and, finally, the micropolitics of desire and resistance. Txuspo Poyo, referring to Marcel Duchamp's works, articulates an arrangement of "single machines", sloughed by technological, mechanical, and erotic contributions. Netzhammer transposes in a specific visual idiom, the preoccupation to make the "self" receptive to the other. The world does not appear to be a negotiable and available simple mass but rather like a complex other which has its own dignity.

Nicolas Wagnières and Benoit Peverelli film the gigantic hotel Yugoslavia in Belgrade, built as a symbol of greatness and unity under Tito. After having been abandoned during the war and then subjected to many renovation projects, it is today a metaphor of the Balkan's recent history. With the use of a pinhole camera, Jerome Schlomoff films four building sites of cultural institutions in Amsterdam. These locations, charged with history, are confronted with the vision of an industrial world, in analogy or in opposition with the vision of an untouched nature. Marina Chernikova confronts and transforms urban fragments from three different cities, Moscow, Tokyo and Paris. The usual representation of the city as an homogenous and clearly structured whole switches places with a dynamic, fragmented and individual perception of the urban environment. With Rossella Biscotti and Kevin van Braak we follow locals of a Cape Town neighbourhood who are building a five meter high wooden tower. Other locals are then invited to dismantle the tower and to take fragments home, thus giving the project all its meaning. Bertrand Dezoteux has recorded some of his entourage's conversations. He then asked inhabitants of Roubaix to mime in playback these recorded voices and to embody the words which are not theirs. Florin Bobu films an absurd trip across a road, undertaken by the best of men. By reusing the codes of social protests, Vincent Meesen directs 6 characters carrying placards with words written on them with luminous letters, creating a both political and poetic manifestation. Damir Ocko directs hybrid creatures in the remains of the biggest architectural project ever imagined, a 250 000 m2 hospital planned in Croatia in the 70s. A Wagnerian intrigue unfolds in this surreal set.

Olivo Barbieri shows us an unreal and artificial Las Vegas, by using aerial shots where architecture and urban planning lose reality and become the scale model of a demiurge who looks on. Guzman De Yarza compares two series of photographs taken in Siberia: portraits of teenagers and pictures of buildings of the city they live in. Dani Castillo et Enrique Corrales film Leganés street in Madrid as it is demolished. As the houses are emptied, the buildings are destroyed in order to make room for new constructions. Rodrigo Hernández establishes a ritual whose goal is to modify our apprehension of a particular space. Ziad Antar films daily life and suspended time in a besieged city. Investigating the interplays between cinema, photography and video, Christina Amiran and Khali Charif have worked on a unique sequence shot of a deserted avenue of Copacabana, inspired by the aesthetic of John Ford's films. 80 years after Fritz Lang's travel to New York and exactly in the estimated time of the futuristic projections of his film "Metropolis», Maya Schweizer et Clemens Von Wedemeyer went to China to find film locations and investigate whether this film could be restaged. 80 years later, «Metropolis» is not just a futuristic projection anymore but has become an architectural and social reality.
