Une ambiance très électronique recquiert notre attention et marque le début du voyage dans un décor conçu par ordinateur. On atterrit dans un paysage minimaliste, dominé par l'impression qu'il y a quelque chose tout là-bas. L'horizon nous laisse entrevoir des rectangles qui dessinent, à mesure que l'on s'approche, des bâtiments comme dans un grande ville ou des murs comme dans un espace intérieur. Rythmiquement et temporisé par la musique, on est entraîné dans cette représentation, où l'image suivante scintille déjà de tous ses charmes au loin. Ce travail contemplatif et prenant a été réalisé pour une présentation du créateur de mode belge Bruno Pieters au Petit Palais de Paris. Le mélange de musique, d'art visuel, de mode, de chorégraphie et d'architecture est caractéristique du travail de De Clercq, et d'une génération d'artistes et de créateurs éclectiques flamands qui ont réussi, depuis le début des années 1990, a trouvé une scène internationale. Ein hoher elektronischer Klang zieht unsere Aufmerksamkeit an und löst eine Reise durch einen Computer-bezogenen Raum aus. Wir kommen in einer minimalistisch wirkenden Landschaft an, welche durch die Suggestion, dass sich etwas dort draussen in der Ferne verbirgt, gelenkt wird. Der Horizont ermöglicht uns einen ersten, flüchtigen Blick auf Rechtecke zu werfen, die sich beim Näherkommen als Gebäude einer Stadt oder als Mauern in einem Raum äussern. Rhythmisch und zeitlich entsprechend zur Musik werden wir durch die Vorstellung gesteuert, während das nächste Bild schon verführerisch in der Ferne glänzt. Diese besinnliche und faszinierende Arbeit wurde für eine Präsentation des belgischen Designers Bruno Pieters am Petit Palais in Paris geschaffen. Die Kombination von Musik, visueller Kunst, Mode, Choreographie und Architektur ist ein typisches Merkmal für die Arbeiten von De Clercq und für eine Generation von Elektronik Künstlern und Designern, aus Flandern stammend, die seit 1990 erfolgreich ein internationales Podium gefunden haben. A high electronic tone demands our attention and sparks off a journey through a computer-drawn space. We land up in a minimalist landscape dominated by the suggestion that something is out there in the distance. The horizon allows us a first glimpse of rectangles which, when we come closer, define buildings as in a city, or walls as in an indoor space. Rhythmically and temporized to the music, we are being steered through the representation, after which the next image is already twinkling seductively in the distance. This contemplative and absorbing work was made for a presentation by the Belgian fashion designer Bruno Pieters at the Petit Palais in Paris. The combination of music, visual art, fashion, choreography and architecture is typical of the work of De Clercq, and of a generation of eclectic artists and designers from Flanders who, since the 1990s, have been successful in finding an international podium. Anouk De Clercq [°28021971] a étudié le cinéma à la Sint-Lukas Academy de Bruxelles. Peu après ses études, elle est devenue l'assistante de Leslie Thornton, Walter Verdin et Ana Torfs. A New-York, elle a travaillé avec le groupe Wooster, une troupe d'artistes qui mélangent le théâtre avec des vidéos et de la musique. C'est là qu'elle a pris conscience de l'enrichissement que procure la réunion de différentes formes d'art et de différents artistes. Depuis, Anouk est très attirée par le mélange des disciplines. En plus de mélanger diverses formes d'art dans ses vidéos, combinant graphiques textuels, musique et images dans des installations vidéos, elle collabore régulièrement avec des artistes travaillant dans différents domaines : musiciens, compositeurs, chorégraphes, écrivains, créateurs de mode, architectes, créateurs graphiques. En 2000, elle a reçu une récompense de la fondation belge de la vocation pour encourager son développement comme artiste vidéo. Cette année, elle est nominée pour le prix de la jeune peinture belge 2003.


Anouk De Clercq [°28021971] studierte Film an der Sint-Lukas Academy in Brüssel. Kurz nach ihrem Filmstudium war sie als Assistentin von Leslie Thornton, Walter Verdin und Ana Torfs beschäftigt. In New York arbeitete sie mit der Wooster Group - eine Gruppe von Künstlern, die Theater mit Video und Musik verbinden - und dort erkannte sie, dass es sehr bereichernd ist, verschiedene Kunstformen und Künstler miteinander zu vereinen. Seitdem bezieht sich Anouk stark auf die Interaktion verschiedener Disziplinen: neben der Mischung unterschiedlicher Kunstformen in ihren Videoarbeiten - Kombination von textinhaltlichen Graphiken, Musik und Bildern in Videoinstallationen - arbeitet sie auch regelmäßig mit Künstlern von anderen Bereichen: Musiker, Komponisten, Choreographen, Autoren, Designer, Architekten, Graphikdesigner. 2000 erhielt sie ein Stipendium von der fondation belge (belgischen Talentstiftung) um ihre Weiterentwicklung als Videokünstlerin zu unterstützen. 2003 ist sie für den "prix de la jeune peinture belge 2003" (Preis der jungen, belgischen Darstellung) nominiert.
