Elle a étudié à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts d'Helsinki, dans le Département des Arts Spatiaux et Temporels (licence en 2000, maîtrise en 2002), à la Slade School of Fine Arts du University College de Londres (1999), et à l'École d'Arts Visuels de New York, dans le Département de Photographie et de médias assimilés (maîtrise en 2003). Elle sculpte le temps et l'espace afin de redéfinir l'expérience de la distance physique et psychologique. Les caractéristiques typiques de son travail sont des images réduites et séduisantes, une structure répétitive, une clarté formelle et une ponctuation précise. She sculpts time and space in order to redefine the experience of physical and psychological distance. J'avais pour intention de faire le portrait d'une amitié spéciale et de montrer la distance émotionnelle et physique qui varie entre deux personnes. "Rosie" montre un style de vie sans racines, en mouvement perpétuel, lorsque le processus doux-amer de rapprochement est suivi de l'inévitable séparation. Pittoresque, similaire à une nature morte, l'image et le rythme lent du montage donnent à "Rosie" une impression de mélancolie. Des discussions personnelles sont ajoutées. La caméra vidéo est utilisée comme le point de vue du narrateur - des images intimes sont obtenues en filmant à fleur de peau avec une petite caméra vidéo. Dédié à la Liisa Lounila de "Roadmovie" (1998): "Alors qu'ils atteignaient le bout de cette route / Qui semblait ne pas avoir de fin / Ils réalisèrent qu'ils n'étaient / Qu'au début de leur voyage." Picturesque, still life like imagery and slow editing pace give "Rosie" a melancholic feel. Intimate discussion are layered over Video camera is used as the storyteller's point of view - intimate footage is achieved by getting skin close with a small video camera.
